If you are new to the world of green drinks, I’m so excited for you! Green drinks are one of our family’s favorite breakfasts and snacks. My son actually asks for them at least a few times a week.
Not only are they delicious, but they are extremely healthy and can really help ensure that you get all of the nutrients that you need during your pregnancy (especially if you don’t normally enjoy eating dark leafy greens).
The Best Pregnancy Green Drink
Author: Véronique Jarrell-King | Servings: 2 | Total time: 3-5 minutes
Ingredients:
- 2 cups of kale (these should make up about 2/3 of your container)
- ¼-½ cup cherries (frozen or fresh)
- ½ cup pineapple (frozen or fresh)
- 1 banana
- 2-3 slices of broccoli stem
- ¼ cup walnuts
- 1 tablespoon chia seeds
- 2 tablespoons flax seeds
Directions:
- Throw all of the ingredients in the blender and blend until smooth.
Enjoy!
Notes: There are so many wonderful things you can do with a green drink like this. Other optional add-ins that I recommend trying are protein powder, peanut butter, pecans, almonds, cucumbers, carrots, avocado, etc.
